||Evolutionary Algorithms for Protein Ligand Docking

||Protein-ligan docking is an important problem in bioinformatics and require
a lot of search space exploration.
The present work attempts to employ hybrid genetic algorithms (GAs) to solve
the flexible-ligand docking problem i.e. predicting the binding conformation
of a flexible ligand molecule into a rigid protein. Genetic algorithms are
reputed to perform good optimization and search. We used a genetic algorithm
to serach the space efficiently for this problem. Preliminary results
obtained on a set of three protein-ligand complexes are encouraging.
